This means that top down processing is driven to our expectations and specific goals at the moment The statement in red stands out instantly due to the contrast of colors, but what if I told you to try and find all the "B's" in the image above? As you scan to look for the letter, it should start to become obvious as everything should fade away, that's because you're focusing on the task at hand.Ware also describes top-down processing as, "driven by the need to accomplish some goal." This is exactly what I told you to do. I gave you a goal, and I hope you were driven to try and accomplish it.
